The plural in Similan Islands – Mu Ko Similan suggests, that it is at the Similan Islands to an archipelago (Him) These. Similar ist malaysisch “Yawi” and stands for the number 9, which the mystery is almost solved.
Because in the archipelago Mu Ko Similan is originally 9 Islands.
The Mu Ko Similan Islands
1998 were the islands Koh Tachai and Koh Bon added to the Mu Koh Similan Islands, which the Similan Iceland now, from the 11 Islands (sorted from north):
- I Tachai
- Ko Bon
- Ko Bangu
- Ko Similar
- Ko Paya
- Ko Hin Pousar or Ko Hua Kalok
- Ko Haa
- Ko Miang
- I Payan
- Ko Payang
- I Huyong
exist.
Boat Tours can be made to all the islands of the Similan Islands, but may only 2 be entered.
The colorful variety of marine life is incredible. Those looking for a tranquil paradise, is in the right place.
On the two main islands (Ko Miang - Island Ranked. 4 & Ko Similar – Island Ranked. 8) are located Camping and Bungalows to stay.
Who knows Eco Tourism, is it like and who is really looking for his rest, should spend at least one night at one of the Similan Islands.

Beware wimps: There is only cold water!
The Similan Islands are located in the Mu Ko Similan National Park nature reserve and are closed out of season. The Similan Islands are part of the district Khuraburi, which the Phang Gna province belongs.
The Similan Islands – Mu Ko Similar – constitute an international diving paradise and are known by the crystal clear waters and the absolute white beaches.
In our view, there is no more beautiful beach, as the Strand von Ko Similar.
